Youthful Folly
Mountain over Water
THE JUDGEMENT
YOUTHFUL FOLLY has success.
It is not I who seek the young fool;
The young fool seeks me.
At the first oracle I inform him.
If he asks two or three times, it is importunity.
If he importunes, I give him no information.
Perseverence furthers.
THE IMAGE
A spring wells up at the foot of the mountain:
The image of YOUTH.
Thus the superior man fosters his character
By thoroughness in all that he does.
--The Book of Changes
mapped using the Sequence of Middle Heaven:
From Sacrificial Satisfaction to Depressed Parasitism:
No major changes are implied by this change. But it implies a fairly thorough cycle of minor changes, thus thoroughness. Sacrificial Satisfaction implies a success before the change. Depressed Parasitism implies at the end the well has given most of what it can give, leading to anger (importunity) at not getting more. Good match.
