The Unified Modelling Language

The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is the industry-standard language for specifying, visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software systems.

Here are some resources for learning about the UML:

• Rational's UML Resource Center - the worldwide authority on the UML, as well as a maker of damn fine tools. Unfortunately, none of them run on Linux. =:(

• O'Reilly has an excellent book on the subject: UML in a Nutshell

• Another excellent book is Fundamentals of Object-Oriented Design in UML published by Addison-Wesley.
