Treasury of Tales
This is a list of stories we have written which are related somehow to FaerieMUD:
- DaveDream - based on a dream someone had.
- FaerySleep - A work in progress by a smallish faerie-fey.
- Houses - A brief account of why houses are confusing...(In progress...)
Feel free to add your own. But be aware that prosy faeries hang out in this part of the woods. They have the ability to incorporate stories into the game. Caveat scriptor.
Books
Books are collections of stories which help define certain kinds of things which are dependent on their myths and storytelling for their existence. Examples are religions, magical colleges, guilds, cities and military units. These books also function to help the organizations which create them make decisions.
- Book of Lost Children? - a tome which has been assembled by the Order of the Lost Children to help express their philosophy and teach their new initiates.
- The Book of Wit -- a tome which embodies the growth of the intelligence trait.
- The Five Books of Faerie
- The First Book of Faerie -- FaerieForm
- The Second Book of Faerie -- FaerieOrder
- The Third Book of Faerie -- FaerieCroft
- The Fourth Book of Faerie -- FaerieSpirit
- The Fifth Book of Faerie -- FaerieMyth
- Works of the Shrub are three works influence how members of the Order of the Shrub perceive the world.
- The first Work of the Shrub? is a pamphlet about the forests where the order holds sway. It is called The Story of the Wood.
- The second Work of the Shrub? is much longer, detailing the many times members of the order have held to their oaths. It is called The Tome of Growth.
- The final book? barely fills a single page. It is called The Scroll of the Wind in the Trees and describes the anarchy of the order.
The same stories are also important for the AIs which control the NPCs who are members. Those same NPCs may react in some conversations by telling the stories if they think they are appropriate to the discussion.
