The Taming Power of the Great

Mountain over Heaven

THE JUDGEMENT
THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT.
Perseverence furthers.
Not eating at home brings good fortune.
It furthers one to cross the great water.

THE IMAGE
Heaven within the mountain:
The image of THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT.
Thus the superior man acquaints himself with many sayings of antiquity
And many deeds of the past,
In order to strengthen his character thereby.

--The Book of Changes

mapped using the Sequence of Middle Heaven:

From Sacrificial Satisfaction to Symbiotic Cooperation:

The past is the source of the many benefits of the transition from sacrifice to cooperation, so the study of history matches well. Perseverence, not eating at home and crossing great water are all decent matches, but hardly implied clearly by the sacrifice to cooperation change. Strengthening character matches. Overall, decent match.
