Summer
The seasons of the Periodic Table
At the peak of their change and improvement, Developmental Objects? during summer phases of The Pattern have learned to temper the changes with their growing wisdom.
Manifestions of Summer: characters, covenants, skills and traits
Summer characters are full of strength and growth. Summer souls are helpful. Summer bodies tend to be strong. And summer minds are often hard to keep up with.
Still not dogmatic, CreedHolds? in summertime are no longer interested in changing oaths simply to try something new. And RectorHolds? in summer are not interested in changing governance without good reason, just as summer ChapelHolds? are not changing liturgy simply for the sake of having new words to say on Sunday.
Summer skills often make maximal use of available resources. Summer traits are effective and balanced.
Eco-Relations
There are three eco-relations associated with Summer Covenants:

Seasons of the Periods
There are four summers in the final two periods (the Institutional Balance and the Interindividual Balance) of the periodic table:
- The first and second summers are very internal and non-public in their successes
- The first is interally political
- The second is privately triumphal
- The third and fourth summers are very open and public in their fecundity
- The third is very political
- The fourth is very public in proclaiming its success in its own terms
There are two summers in the middle two periods (the Imperial Balance and the Interpersonal Balance) of the periodic table:
- The first is a very political attempt to capitalize maximally on the advantages of the most recent changes and express them in terms those who have not yet accepted them will understand
- The second summer is public like the first, but more willing to express its fruits in its own terms
There is one summer in the early two periods (the Incorporative Balance and the Impulsive Balance) of the periodic table:
- A very public capitalization on the changes which have been adopted
There is no summer in the Prenatal Balance because the -1 period does not have a clear meaning for season.
