The Soul

The Soul is the creative part of a character. It is responsible for emotions, spellcasting and magic, artistic expression, relationships, charm and charisma, questing, and empathic senses.

The statistic that represents a character's creative ability are karma and inspiration. Karma is a measure of the character's experience and moral development, and is decreased when out of step with The Pattern. This can be caused by the breaking of an oath, the refusal of the call to adventure (see Stories and Quests), or other karmically negative actions. Inspiration is the measure of the character's ability to focus karmic power towards a task, and is affected when the character engages in behaviour inconsistant with her own values. A character's inspiration can never exceed her karma.
