Silver Fir

The sixth sacred tree is the silver fir with the twigs being used for magical purposes (the bark is usually required to be there, unblemished, on the twig). The tall evergreen has needles which are dark green on one side and white on the the other (actually the white is usually a very pale green which seems white in comparison to the green on the other side). Sometimes the underside has a silvery touch.

The Silver Fir is the tree of birth.

Abies alba

Silver fir is associated with the letter Ailm of the Ogham alphabet. Silver fir corresponds to Group VIB? on the Periodic Table (the sixth column). This means that it relates to Depressed Parasitism, the eco-relation (-,+), and the vocabulary of the previous balance. Silver fir is also associated with tungsten? and a developmental number of 74.

The magic associated with silver fir are usually enchantments or creation spells:

  • animate plant
  • water to wine
  • name
  • enchant wand
  • greater shapeshifting

These magicks are based on the female creativity of birth.
