Ruminate Family of Languages

The Ruminate family of languages includes:

  • Bovine? -- a very simple language used by cows.
    • developmental level -- 13
  • Asinine? -- used by donkeys, asses and mules.
    • developmental level -- 32
    • used as a pidgin by all ruminates
    • most ruminates think of Common? and other trade languages as forms of Asinine
  • Equine? -- used by horses (usually to boss cows around).
    • developmental level -- 41
  • Centrine? -- used by centaurs.
    • developmental level -- 64
    • centaurs have developed the use of staves held in their hands to increase the number of phonemes beyond what four-footed creatures can manage
    • the most recent development is the addition of vocal speech as a kind of inflection added to the meaning of the foot and staff
