Periods of the Pattern
A Period is a Balance or level of The Pattern -- a periodic table from which all developmental entities? in the !FaerieMUD world are derived.
The periods of the table are a series of developmental levels of increasing complexity, each of which represents a kind of balance between subject and predicate (subjects being the way instances of the class define themselves; predicates being what they define as being "other"). Each developmental entity gradually refines its self-definition as it progresses from period to period in pursuit of its ideal form.
We've defined 7 periods for the Pattern (though it theoretically is an open-ended system):
- Prenatal Balance (-1)
- Incorporative Balance (0)
- Impulsive Balance (1)
- Imperial Balance (2)
- Interpersonal Balance (3)
- Institutional Balance (4)
- Interindividual Balance (5)
[This still needs some mention of Current Vocabulary, Eco Relations?, and probably some stuff I'm forgetting...]
