Interpersonal Balance
Period 3
Developmental Objects? first define themselves in terms of their peers in the Interpersonal Balance. They may define themselves as part of a peer group. Or they may define themselves as outsiders who fit into no particular clique. They are learning to accomplish tasks in related skills.
Thus, skills at this level are capable of allowing tasks of related skills to be accomplished. Two sets of seasons should bring them to the point where their friends come into conflict requiring them to become an external object, a friend that one has rather than a group that one is. Between these two sets of seasons a minor crisis arises which is known as a clique, requiring another level of internal differentiation.
