Genesis of Principles with Ruthenium, Rhodium and Palladium

The rare earths cannot be fully understood without first examining the elements of Group VIIIB (under Iron, Cobalt and Nickel) where the first hints of internal distinctions which do not result in external (chemical or valence) differences.
Under Iron, Cobalt and Nickel
A second series of internal distinctions begin in the Interpersonal Balance, where Group VIII (starting with Ruthenium? and evolving into Rhodium? and Palladium?) introduces the minor crisis known as "cliques." In order to resolve this crisis, an emergent sub-entity of the self begins to emerge as the clique realizes that, although the clique has succeeded (often beyond expectation), it must grow to deal externally with other people. The emergent sub-entity is a principle. Without a principle ("outsiders bring value, too"), the interpersonal self cannot develop further.
Principles emerge in sacrificial satisfaction (Rhodium) and must mature into evangelical predation (Palladium) before the interpersonal self (or principled individual) can develop further. Interestingly enough, again this is enough for the Interpersonal Balance's limited needs from set of internally-demanding principles. (This does not, of course, prevent the principled individual, who remains in evangelical-predation mode vis-a-vis his or her principles for a long time, from the delusion that everything is known about principle.) Once the principled individual gets to the Interindividual Balance, however, the interindividual self needs a more fully developed set of principles on which to base its conception of self.
This produces another long wait where that internal development remains static with evangelical predation. Of course, the externally manifest self (the persona) is growing and developing throughout this period.
