Concentration

The secondary linear part of the statistic for a character's mind. As with the linear parts of all statistics, Concentration tends to fluctuate often, reflecting the current state of mental fatigue. This in turn is reflected in checks, such as die rolls, which ought to be affected by such fatigue.

Concentration also affects the depth of the cache of events maintained in the character which the Fates use to build a character's stories.

Replenishment

The usual ways to replenish concentration are meditation and prayer. Sleeping also helps. Dreaming adds to the effectiveness of sleep.

Meditation on a particular word or icon (based on the Form aspect of one of your covenants) allows one to use a particular immortal's kenning to speed the process if the oath of the covenant is sworn in the name of that immortal. Such a word or icon is called a "mantra." Mantras which appear in dreams may have particular importance and meaning which may also affect the amount of concentration replenished.
