Atropos, The Cutter

Once a story has been passed to an entity (a character or an object which has a relationship to the common element of its first and last events), its storage is determined by the importance developmental value assigned to it by Lachesis.

For every level of importance, an array is created to hold the stories with that level of importance. These arrays are determined and maintained by Atropos, the third fate.

The criteria used to determine the size of each array are:

  • the importance level
  • the karma of the character OR
  • the quality of the object
  • (speculatively) the amount of disk space available
  • the entity's concentration (length of allowable skeins is determined by perspicacity)

Each new story is pushed onto the beginning of the array corresponding to the level of importance. If the array is already full, Atropos removes the last (oldest) element of the array.
