Artifacts as Elements
As artisans become more capable in their craft, they are able to imbue the artifacts they create with useful properties beyond the simple ones conferred by the object itself. Likewise, an artifact-maker who is less skilled will sometimes inadvertantly imbue an object with properties that make it less useful for the task for which it was intended as a function of their incompetance.
The artifact-maker's skill has a developmental? level which can be used to determine what properties she can/will imbue in something she is making. To do so, find the element that corresponds to the developmental level of the skill on the following list. The traits, skills, statistics, tasks? and enchantments which can be affected by that particular element are explained in the description that follows (as well as in the description included in the period description which precedes that particular element.
