Apprenticework Trait Enhancement
Each element of the apprentice's level allows enhancement of one trait when attempting tasks which require an object she has forged. She can learn more than one such enhancement (one trait per element), but only one trait enhancement can be applied to any one artifact (precluding any task enhancement. Choosing to learn a trait enhancement for any particular element precludes learning a task enhancement for any task of that group and series (A or B) on the periodic table.
As the apprentice advances through her apprenticeship, she can add more traits which can be enhanced. Thus, by the end of her time as a novice, she should be able to enhance all 12 traits with her work. Of course, this would severely limit the number of tasks she could enhance and might be very silly with most items (which are unlikely to have tasks which use all 12 traits associated with them).
She has the option on each item she forges to imbue the item with only one of these trait enhancements.
Note that when you gain a level you must learn the enhancement from a master who already knows it. This means that someone who learns from a single master will reflect that master's style almost exactly for most of their development, while someone who learns from a variety of sources (as in a guild) will have more options.
