Apprenticework Task Enhancement

Each element of the apprentice's level allows enhancement of one task from inhibition by the object being forged.

In other words, when an apprentice's tool or weapon is used in a task, it can have a positive impact on the success of most tasks. But the apprentice must choose to enhance each specific task she wants to enhance. The enhancement comes in the form of a one-point decrease in the difficulty level of each success level of the die rolls.

Each element allows the apprentice to choose one task to enhance. The element must have the same group and series (A or B) on the periodic table as the task being enhanced. She can also choose to enhance a trait, but this precludes any task enhancement.

As the apprentice advances through her apprenticeship, she can add more tasks which can be enhanced. Thus, by the end of her time as an apprentice, she may be able to enhance up to 18 tasks with the positive effects of her work. Of course, no task may be added to this list which is not known in her culture or in her own experience.

She has the option on each item she forges to imbue the item with each of these enhancements. The more she enhances, the longer the item will take to make, but the more valuable it will be.

Note that when you gain a level you must learn the enhancement from a master who already knows it. This means that someone who learns from a single master will reflect that master's style almost exactly for most of their development, while someone who learns from a variety of sources (as in a guild) will have more options.
